Confetti
unknown

I held confetti
 1
how I used to hold your finger
 2
when your arms were my loom,
 3
a hundred burials ago.
 4

Your groom smile greeting,
 5
killed me.
 6
It killed your little girl.
 7
Making me bury you on your wedding day,
 8
with a nine year old girl and her brother
 9
that you once held like her,
 10
and now unfurled, as daughters confetti.
 11

I held my husband
 12
how you used to grip my finger
 13
and I cry in his arms
 14
how I did in yours
 15
a hundred burials ago.
