| Her Death |
Pegboy
|
The blackness, sombre, thick as stage curtains | 1 |
Consumes the air, spreading fast | 2 |
a diffusing gas. | 3 |
| |
A woman's high-heels, with pinpricks as points, | 4 |
clatter on the stone parapet. | 5 |
Shes running, fast, with an urgency | 6 |
that her heart beat can't match. | 7 |
| |
Nothing near, an empty set. | 8 |
The air seems to buzz as if | 9 |
the night has swallowed all life | 10 |
Except for her. | 11 |
| |
The sound of her heavy breathing, | 12 |
mist exhaled from the painted mouth, | 13 |
her skin, icy cold, white, like snow. | 14 |
| |
She seems somehow damp, | 15 |
blonde curls hand loosely | 16 |
body sagging from the exertion | 17 |
| |
falling, down into darkness | 18 |
the chilly air enfolds her death | 19 |
night swallows her soul | 20 |
Her body discarded like a careless sweet wrapper | 21 |
| |
The eyes glisten, lifeless | 22 |
The eloquent red liquid seeps from her | 23 |
A hiss from her mouth, chilling everything further | 24 |
No life, an empty set, darkness consuming all. | 25 |
